The Austin Treebune: Austin’s Urban Forest Newsletter is an electronic newsletter which focuses on the preservation and development of Austin’s urban forest, and events and activities which support this.
“Austin’s urban forest is composed of trees and vegetation in and around our community. This ‘green infrastructure’ reduces urban heat, improves air quality, reduces stormwater runoff, and supports Austin’s wildlife. The face of Austin may be changing but that doesn’t mean we can’t help shape its future. Planting trees now, responsibly managing for wildfire risk, and protecting our preserves and creeks are all ways the community can support its health and well being. The Treebune embraces this comprehensive view of the urban forest because we know that our trees are one part of a larger interconnected system. We hope you’ll enjoy our newsletter each month as we continue to explore the many facets of our urban forest.”
