ABOUT OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

The Walnut Creek Neighborhood is a small enclave of homes in the heart of North Austin, Texas.

Our diverse community is comprised of three subdivisions (Eubank Acres, Oak Ridge, and Walnut Forest) that includes approximately 600 homes, large trees, creeks, and wildlife.

BOUNDARIES

The Walnut Creek Neighborhood boundaries are encompassed by the follow streets:

East: IH-35
South: Braker Ln
West: North Lamar Blvd
North: Yager Ln

OUR HISTORY

Our neighborhood was built, beginning in the late 1950s, on what was originally a dairy farm. With larger than average lots, our beautiful mature oak trees (some of which are hundreds of years old), and our strong sense of community, we are a hidden gem and take pride in our unique neighborhood.

In the past few years, we have adopted 15 acres of city-owned flood control land along Walnut Creek to maintain an entry area and about a mile of hike and bike trail along the creek.

NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

Another source of pride and leadership is our strong, organized Walnut Creek Neighborhood Association (WCNA), which has enabled us to combine our efforts during the City of Austin annexation, treatment of Oak Wilt disease, and partnering with other neighborhoods in crime fighting efforts. The WCNA also organizes one of Austin’s best Annual Neighborhood Night Out celebrations.

OUR FUTURE

With the rampant Austin population growth and close proximity to areas such as the Domain and Tech Ridge, we look forward to the increased valuation of our neighborhood’s small community atmosphere and convenient location.
