Join us for a community meal meant to bring our northern Austin neighbors together with a space to connect through shared food, telling stories, and a sense of contribution to help build a thriving, stronger community for us all to enjoy.
This event began last year in my kitchen, born from the grief of losing my mother and the subsequent urge to cook as a way to move some of my feelings and contribute to the life still around me. With the help of some very generous neighbors, we ended up cooking 30+ meals for any neighbor who wanted a hot meal at the holidays.
This year, we hope to invite more of a sense of community to the holiday season by connecting with each other in person. We’re teaming up with Pastor Ashley and the folks over at St. Mark UMC to help provide the space to connect, delicious homemade food, and more! No religious context and all are welcome.
You are invited to bring a favorite dish from your culture or childhood to contribute but are not required to do so! We’ll be cooking up the basics. Feel free to show up just to enjoy a meal with us or bring a dish to contribute. Bonus points if you have a story to share about what makes your dish memorable to you!
